Regina A. Talbot | Vocal Music Teacher | City School District of New Rochelle

Regina A. Talbot’s passion for music began during her youth, as she took piano lessons and played the clarinet. Her love for passion continued to grow and she went on to earn a Bachelor of Music from the State University of New York at Oneonta in 1991 and served as a graduate assistant at the State University of New York at Fredonia, through which she also received a Master of Music in 1994. Ms. Talbot has expanded her breadth of knowledge by earning certifications in music for grades K-12, school building leadership and school district leadership through the State of New York, and an advanced graduate certificate in educational leadership from Stony Brook University.

At the start of her professional endeavors, Ms. Talbot served as a vocal music teacher at Bellamy Elementary School in Rome, New York, Waterville Memorial Park Elementary School in Waterville, New York and the American School of Las Palmas in Spain between 1994 and 1998. Taking her expertise to South America, she was a music coordinator and chair of the Fine Arts Department at the American School of Asuncion in Paraguay from 1998 to 2000. Subsequently, Ms. Talbot returned to her roots as a vocal music teacher, teaching at Clark Avenue School, South Memorial Elementary School, Brown Elementary School and Greenlodge Elementary School, all in Massachusetts, through 2003.

In 2003, Ms. Talbot relocated to New York, where she was a vocal music teacher at Garden Street Elementary and H.H. Wells Middle School in Brewster until 2005. For the past 17 years, she has excelled in the same post at George M. Davis Jr. Elementary School in New Rochelle, while also serving as an accompanist for various high school musicals and community functions and participating in the Westchester County All-County Elementary Chorus Festivals. She is also a music instructor through Life Time Athletic Kids Academy in Harrison and a private voice and piano teacher. In light of her professional achievements, Ms. Talbot was named as a Distinguished Music Educator through Yale University in 2011.
